We take allergen safety seriously.
If you have an allergy, you have to let us know and you must read the Allergen Guide below.
Over and above the legal allergen regulations, which Byron has always adhered to, we have developed and added extra safeguards as follows:
Every member of staff has undergone allergen management training
Every customer will be asked if they have an allergy or any dietary requirements when being seated.
The allergy remover pop-up window ('Have you asked about allergies?') flashes up on the till screen before inputting the order. The allergy message is then recorded on the till receipt that is sent to the kitchen as the order is taken. This member of staff will also verbally alert the kitchen team about the allergy
An additional flyer and/or sticker is placed on every table to remind customers to inform the staff of the allergy
The Byron Allergen Guide includes detailed sections for those avoiding certain allergens (avoiding dairy, avoiding gluten, vegan/plant based diet)
Training videos are available for staff: all new starters have to watch the video and formal allergy training is done periodically - Allergy refreshers are a part of menu training
